Holy Tequila Tuesday...you can make car parts with it too

Ford in its quest to build the sustainable automobile has been chronicled here in the past.  From wheat chaff reinforced plastics to recycled water bottles becoming carpet and car upholstery they are leading the way towards just that.

The quest took an interesting twist recently.  The use of left over mash from making tequila as the source for a polymer to create plastic resin.  Go figure...Happy Tequila Tuesday have a shot for the cause.

Car seats out of thin air? Ford says yes.

Say what...this is enough to make a Renaissance alchemist head spin, to think you can make seats out of thin air.  Ford says with the over abundance of CO2 causing problems in the atmosphere it makes sense to pull it out, polymerize it then turn it into useful plastics like car seats.  How cool is that?  One idea further into the sustainable automobile.

If you think its far fetched...its really not.  Ford already with the F150, Focus and a few other cars is pulling millions of water bottles out of the waste cycle and recycling into fabric for car seats.  To remove excess CO2 from the air and put it to use in plastic car parts really isn't that much of a stretch.
